You will guide the engineering organization through a critical growth phase, focusing on building a high-performing team and establishing strong technical standards. Working closely with founders, you will balance hands-on architectural decisions with empowering engineers to deliver impactful products for finance teams.
What you'll do
- Hire and retain exceptional engineers to scale the team
- Set technical direction and make architectural decisions when needed
- Increase shipping cadence and improve product delivery quality
- Foster a culture of high standards and engineering excellence
- Unblock the team and multiply the impact of individual engineers
- Reduce incidents and maintain high system reliability
What you'll need
- Proven success building engineering teams at high-growth startups
- Strong full-stack engineering background for technical guidance
- Track record of improving team output and shipping velocity
- Experience guiding teams to strong technical outcomes
- Ability to build a culture where engineers take pride in their work
Nice to have
- Experience with React, TypeScript, and Go
- Background in data engineering
- Founder experience with YC or equivalent programs
- Experience in Fintech, SaaS, or B2B software sectors
- Passion for simplifying complex financial concepts
