You will lead the Cloud Platform team responsible for Mistral’s sovereign AI cloud infrastructure in Europe. This founding leadership role combines hands-on architecture with people management, focusing on automating the provisioning, validation, and deployment of GPU clusters.
The goal is to scale compute capacity across Europe by 2030. You will define the technical standards and hiring playbook while working closely with hardware design and fleet health teams to ensure reliable, automated delivery of high-performance computing resources.
What you'll do
- Build the delivery pipeline in Go for provisioning, configuration, and validation
- Hire, onboard, and coach the first engineers to form the core team
- Define tooling standards and playbooks for future datacenter sites
- Drive down time-to-acceptance metrics by optimizing slowest steps
- Collaborate with Hardware Design and Fleet Health on reliability
- Manage GPU fleets including H100 and GB200 nodes and network fabrics
- Partner with Product Managers to align delivery waves with capacity goals
What you'll need
- Experience automating bare-metal fleets from racks to clusters
- Fluency in hardware components like servers, GPUs, NICs, and switches
- 8+ years in backend or infrastructure systems development
- At least 2 years of genuine people leadership and hiring experience
- Deep Linux knowledge extending below the application layer
- Proven track record of shipping production systems in Go
- Willingness to travel to datacenter sites as needed
