Join the Cloud Platform team at Mistral to build the systems powering Europe's sovereign AI cloud. You will lead a squad responsible for compute orchestration, bare metal infrastructure, and the Kubernetes layer that supports frontier models.
This is a leadership position from day one, balancing team growth with deep technical involvement. You will own the end-to-end Kubernetes product, ensuring reliable scaling from metal to on-demand clusters for enterprise customers.
What you'll do
- Design and ship the Kubernetes control plane architecture
- Manage hiring, coaching, and performance for the engineering team
- Own reliability of the control plane as the primary KPI
- Automate cluster provisioning to reduce setup time significantly
- Partner with Product Managers on priorities and technical tradeoffs
- Define team processes and execution rituals during growth phases
What you'll need
- At least 2 years of experience managing engineering teams
- Proven track record of shipping production systems in Go
- Deep experience running or building Kubernetes components
- Strong understanding of Linux internals and bare metal infrastructure
- Experience with GPU workloads on Kubernetes or ability to learn quickly
- Background in building backend or infrastructure systems
- Collaborative mindset with experience partnering across functions
