You will partner directly with customer engineering teams to design systems, prototype solutions, and solve technical challenges as they move from experimentation to production on the LiveKit platform. This position sits at the intersection of engineering and customer success, requiring you to debug production issues and create reference implementations that demonstrate best practices.
What you'll do
- Design and implement real-time applications with customer teams
- Create scalable architectures for voice AI and media use cases
- Build prototype integrations and sample applications
- Guide customers through SDKs, APIs, and deployment strategies
- Debug complex technical issues in production environments
- Lead technical workshops and architecture sessions
- Translate customer feedback into product improvements
- Contribute code or examples to the open-source ecosystem
What you'll need
- Seven or more years in backend or infrastructure engineering
- Proficiency in Go, Python, Node, Rust, or C++
- Experience with APIs, SDKs, and distributed systems
- Background in developer platforms or real-time systems
- Ability to debug complex systems in real-world settings
- Strong communication skills for customer collaboration
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, low-process environments
Nice to have
- Knowledge of WebRTC or telephony infrastructure
- Familiarity with voice AI or conversational agents
- Previous experience in customer-facing engineering roles
- History of contributing to open-source projects
- Prior experience building with LiveKit
