As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will own the technical deployment of AI agents that transform health system operations. You will embed with customers to architect systems handling real clinical workflows, ensuring reliability and safety in production environments.
You will work alongside deployment strategists and clinical experts while maintaining tight connections to the core AI team. This position offers high autonomy and direct access to product and engineering leadership to solve complex field problems.
What you'll do
- Design RAG pipelines grounded in customer clinical data for accuracy and safety
- Build tool-calling architectures to connect agents with EHRs and data warehouses
- Develop production Python code using modern AI frameworks and LLM techniques
- Execute end-to-end deployments including infrastructure setup and go-live planning
- Monitor production systems and respond quickly to incidents or anomalies
- Partner with customers as a technical expert to explain system capabilities
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong Python skills
- Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain or LangSmith
- Deep expertise in RAG, prompt engineering, and tool calling patterns
- Experience building integrations with APIs, databases, or enterprise systems
Nice to have
- Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) for tool integration
- Healthcare IT background including Epic, Cerner, or Athena EHR integrations
- Production DevOps experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Track record of deploying AI systems in production environments
- Experience in mission-critical or safety-sensitive systems
