As the first Forward Deployed Engineer at GC AI, you will define how the company deploys its legal intelligence platform with enterprise customers. You will embed with clients to integrate GC AI into critical processes like contract review and compliance, while feeding insights back to the core engineering team.
This founding role offers high ownership and ambiguity, requiring you to build the playbook for customer deployments. You will work directly with users to solve real production problems, creating reference implementations and identifying patterns that drive platform improvements.
What you'll do
- Embed with customers to understand legal and business workflows
- Design and build production integrations using the GC AI API
- Deploy platform features into procurement and compliance processes
- Troubleshoot and debug customer integrations in real time
- Identify repeatable patterns to contribute back to Product Engineering
- Create reference implementations and documentation for future users
- Travel to customer sites as needed for deployment support
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping production software
- 3+ years working directly with customers on technical solutions
- Strong programming skills in TypeScript or Python
- Hands-on experience with APIs, webhooks, and integrations
- Ability to lead technical projects with high ownership
- Clear communication of technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Nice to have
- Experience building workflow automation systems
- Background in APIs, SDKs, or developer platforms
- Experience with AI products or LLM-powered applications
- Knowledge of legal tech, compliance, or enterprise software
- Previous startup experience
- Experience designing systems connecting multiple services
