You will own the technical design and delivery of AI systems that power navigation for people, packages, and vehicles. Working across departments, you will define product behavior, build measurement frameworks, and create evaluation systems for non-deterministic AI outputs. Your work ensures high-quality shipping increments while balancing technical perfection with practical utility.
What you'll do
- Define product behavior and build evaluation systems for non-deterministic AI outputs
- Run continuous evaluation of APIs, SDKs, and data representations from an end-user perspective
- Own MVP delivery against technical designs while balancing perfection with useful increments
- Build data pipelines for ingestion, conflation, entity resolution, and quality checks
- Design feedback loops to generate improvement data from product usage
- Design boundaries between models and tools, including model harnesses and delegation logic
- Optimize for latency and cost targets via streaming, caching, and model routing
- Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 system availability
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years shipping LLM-backed features to real users with error budgets
- Direct experience designing evaluations for non-deterministic systems
- Data engineering depth with SQL and distributed processing frameworks
- Fluency with tool calling, agent orchestration, and associated failure modes
- Working knowledge of multiple agent harnesses and their weaknesses
- Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript
- Experience diagnosing latency in distributed request paths
- Clear written communication skills for distributed decision-making
Nice to have
- Experience with geospatial data such as routing, geocoding, or OpenStreetMap
- Public API or SDK design experience for external developers
- Experience building against MCP or similar tool transports
- Experience running evaluations in CI with commercial or custom harnesses
- Background in automotive, in-vehicle infotainment, CarPlay, or Android Auto
- Voice pipeline experience including streaming ASR, TTS, and wake word detection
- Experience working under constrained compute or intermittent connectivity
