Join the Finance Data Engineering and Analytics team at Kraken to build trusted financial data products. You will work at the intersection of data engineering and accounting, creating automated pipelines and models to streamline the financial close process.
The role involves partnering with Finance and Engineering teams to transform complex financial data into reliable insights. You will use automation and AI-assisted tools to reduce manual work, improve reporting accuracy, and support decision-making across the organization.
What you'll do
- Build automated workflows for data preparation, reconciliations, and reporting
- Develop intuitive dashboards to help stakeholders investigate issues and decide
- Resolve finance data discrepancies by addressing root causes with cross-functional teams
- Construct scalable pipelines to collect and transform data from internal and external systems
- Support the design and rollout of a trusted finance data lake with quality checks
- Evaluate and prototype AI-assisted automation solutions for production use
What you'll need
- 7+ years in data analytics within financial services or regulated industries
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for production code maintenance
- Experience with Git, merge requests, and software engineering best practices
- Hands-on experience with dbt, Spark, Airflow, or similar pipeline tools
- Direct experience with accounting data such as reconciliations and month-end close
- Ability to lead complex technical work and navigate ambiguity autonomously
- Excellent communication skills to bridge Engineering and Finance domains
Nice to have
- Experience with cryptocurrency transaction data and digital-asset reconciliations
- Background processing large financial transaction volumes using Spark or PySpark
