Join the team behind ClickStack, an open-source platform that unifies logs, metrics, traces, and session replays for faster debugging. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will own key services and infrastructure, ensuring high-throughput data pipelines for developers worldwide.
You will collaborate with the open-source community to refine architecture and API design. The goal is to create a seamless experience for engineers monitoring production applications at petabyte scale.
What you'll do
- Build and own backend services powering the observability platform
- Ensure reliable, high-throughput data pipelines and APIs
- Design scalable systems for ingesting petabytes of data
- Collaborate with open-source contributors and customers
- Incorporate community feedback into backend architecture
What you'll need
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong focus on backend development and infrastructure
- Expertise in TypeScript and Node.js
- Experience with Express, Fastify, or similar frameworks
- Solid understanding of API design and distributed systems
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
Nice to have
- Experience with Go for occasional service contributions
- Knowledge of ClickHouse or PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and logging pipelines
- Experience designing SDKs or client libraries
- Exposure to Kafka, NATS, or event-driven architectures
