We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Engineer to architect robust solutions and optimize complex database environments. You will ensure high-performance, reliable data management by working with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB ecosystems.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize databases in multi-cloud and on-premises environments
- Write and tune complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views
- Manage indices to improve performance and reduce overhead
- Develop backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
- Conduct disaster recovery drills and failover testing
- Monitor performance metrics and implement tuning strategies
- Collaborate on efficient data models and schema designs
- Implement security best practices and encryption standards
- Manage database migrations, upgrades, and version control
- Troubleshoot replication, clustering, and connectivity issues
What you'll need
- At least 6 years of professional database engineering experience
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or later
- Proficiency in T-SQL development and execution plan optimization
- Experience with MSSQL Always-On Availability Groups and mirroring
- Strong background in PostgreSQL management
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
- Experience managing databases on AWS RDS and Aurora
- Knowledge of database security, encryption, and compliance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Nice to have
- Microsoft Azure certifications (Solutions Architect or Data Engineer)
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipelines
- Experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch or Redgate
- Knowledge of high-availability architecture and replication
- Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and automated testing
- Experience working in an Agile or DevOps environment
