You will drive the strategy for HiveMQ’s Data Streaming layer, the connectivity foundation of its Industrial AI Platform. This includes evolving the core Enterprise Broker toward cloud-native architectures and managing the extensibility system that integrates OT and IT systems.
The position requires balancing immediate customer commitments with long-term architectural investments. You will work to make the platform the default substrate for operational agents, ensuring it remains competitive against lighter brokers through superior intelligence and agentic capabilities.
What you'll do
- Define product strategy for the Data Streaming layer and Core Broker evolution
- Manage the extensibility system to prevent one-off customizations
- Champion Agent Experience (AX) alongside UX and DX in design targets
- Drive business outcomes including adoption, revenue, and customer satisfaction
- Partner with engineering leadership to ensure technical feasibility and stability
- Collaborate with GTM teams including Sales, Alliances, and Product Marketing
- Maintain strategic customer relationships and handle escalations
- Use data-driven methods to instrument products and measure impact
What you'll need
- 8–15 years of experience in product management or consulting
- Track record with mature enterprise infrastructure products
- Deep familiarity with MQTT, Kafka, Solace, or RabbitMQ
- Experience with OT/IT convergence such as PLC, OPC-UA, or SCADA
- Understanding of smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 environments
- Ability to manage budgets and allocate resources across teams
- Strong strategic thinking and influence without authority
- Preferred location in the Eastern Time zone of the United States
Nice to have
- Experience in automotive, pharma, energy, or discrete manufacturing
- Background in IoT, robotics, or connected vehicle domains
- Knowledge of self-managed enterprise software and LTS cycles
- Track record with product-led growth for technical products
- Understanding of distributed systems reliability and scalability
