Join AuthZed as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer specializing in security. You will operate the production platform powering SpiceDB, ensuring availability and scalability while integrating deep security expertise into infrastructure design, deployment, and threat detection. This position offers significant ownership within a small, collaborative engineering team dedicated to fixing broken access control.
What you'll do
- Operate and evolve Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure for managed services
- Enhance infrastructure security including IAM, networking, and encryption
- Secure the software supply chain from source code to production deployment
- Build automated guardrails and secure defaults into the engineering platform
- Improve vulnerability management across containers and cloud services
- Expand security telemetry, logging, and incident response capabilities
- Participate in SRE on-call rotation and lead production incident resolution
- Collaborate on architecture design and threat modeling with engineering teams
What you'll need
- Significant experience as an SRE, Platform, or Security Engineer
- Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Strong experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and their security models
- Expertise in IAM, workload identity, TLS/PKI, and secrets management
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Pulumi, Terraform, or CDK
- Proficiency in securing CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes
- Strong understanding of Linux and container security fundamentals
- Ability to drive projects independently and provide technical leadership
Nice to have
- Experience operating distributed databases or stateful systems
- Background in securing multi-tenant SaaS or cloud infrastructure
- Experience with threat modeling, penetration testing, or security assessments
- Relevant certifications such as CKA, CKS, CISSP, or CCSP
