You will design and build scalable backend services and core platform components like payment orchestration and ledgering. Working closely with engineering leadership, you will influence architectural decisions and own projects from technical design through deployment.
What you'll do
- Design and build scalable, production-grade backend services and distributed systems
- Develop core components including payment orchestration, ledgering, and public APIs
- Influence system architecture, engineering standards, and technical direction
- Own projects end-to-end from technical design through deployment and operation
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to solve infrastructure challenges
- Mentor teammates and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture
What you'll need
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with production systems
- Experience in high-growth startups or fast-paced environments with ownership
- Strong backend fundamentals and experience building reliable distributed systems
- Ability to independently drive complex technical initiatives and architectural decisions
- Experience in Infrastructure/DevOps, Payments, or Blockchain/crypto infrastructure
- Product-minded approach with willingness to work across the stack
- Authorization to work in the United States
Nice to have
- Experience designing APIs, distributed systems, or event-driven architectures
- Experience with modern cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code
- Background in fintech, payments, banking, or regulated industries
- Experience shaping engineering practices or scaling engineering organizations
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and modern tooling
