Join the core team at VillageSQL to shape the architecture of a community-driven MySQL extension platform. You will build the foundation for VillageSQL Cloud, a serverless service designed for AI agents and developers, while engaging with the open-source community.
What you'll do
- Design and implement core database features for VillageSQL Cloud
- Write efficient and maintainable code using Go and Kubernetes
- Collaborate with founders on technical vision and roadmap
- Engage with the open-source community and provide technical guidance
- Ensure security and integrity of the cloud service
- Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
What you'll need
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong focus on Go and Kubernetes development
- Proven ability to design complex distributed systems
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Nice to have
- Active contributions to open-source database projects
- Experience building storage or database distributed systems
- Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms
- Experience with C++, Rust, or scripting languages
- Familiarity with build systems and configuration management
- Deep understanding of RDBMS concepts and MySQL internals
