Join the Nerve team at SigNoz to build the AI layer of an open-source observability platform. You will develop Noz, the AI teammate, and the MCP server that allows LLM agents to interact with metrics, logs, and traces.
The work focuses on making non-deterministic AI systems dependable through robust backend engineering. You will drive initiatives from design to rollout in a remote-first, async-friendly environment.
What you'll do
- Build agent orchestration, tool calling, and session state for Noz
- Develop the SigNoz MCP server for LLM agent interactions
- Enable querying of logs, metrics, and traces via AI agents
- Implement LLM and GenAI observability using OpenTelemetry
- Drive initiatives from problem discovery to implementation and rollout
- Write clear documentation and explain technical trade-offs
What you'll need
- 5-8 years of backend experience in product companies
- Strong proficiency in Go concurrency and performance
- Expertise in async Python with FastAPI and Pydantic
- Comfortable designing APIs and data models
- Drive to make non-deterministic systems dependable
- High ownership mindset in a fast-moving team
Nice to have
- Experience shipping LLM features like agents or tool calling
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and ClickHouse
- Knowledge of Kafka and Kubernetes
- Prior contributions to open-source projects
