Join Hims & Hers as a Sr. Staff Engineer to shape the long-term technical landscape of a leading public health and wellness company. You will define architectural vision, drive cross-functional alignment, and ensure system resilience while supporting personalized patient care at scale.
This position operates at an organizational level, requiring you to establish design patterns, remove blockers, and translate business goals into scalable technical solutions. You will mentor other technical leaders and foster a culture of engineering rigor and continuous learning.
What you'll do
- Define and evolve architectural vision for customer-facing systems aligned with business strategy
- Establish design patterns and frameworks to ensure quality and operational excellence
- Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to shape strategic direction
- Mentor senior technical leaders and elevate engineering capabilities across teams
- Navigate ambiguity to clarify direction and accelerate delivery of strategic initiatives
- Design systems that support sustainable growth and prioritize observability and reliability
What you'll need
- 12+ years of professional software engineering experience with group-level leadership
- Deep understanding of system design for scale using Kotlin, Java, or Go
- Experience scaling shared infrastructure, frameworks, or libraries across multiple teams
- Proficiency with CI/CD workflows, cloud infrastructure, and observability tools
- Proven ability to drive architectural clarity and strategic technical alignment
- Track record of improving developer experience, team velocity, and system sustainability
