Join Horizon3 as a Staff Software Engineer to define and build the systems that translate attack paths into continuous remediation. You will bridge AI research and platform engineering, designing durable execution frameworks and secure agent architectures without direct people management responsibilities.
The role requires writing production code weekly, mentoring engineers through design reviews, and partnering with product leaders to sequence technical roadmaps. You will own the technical vision for multi-tenant isolation and connector frameworks across heterogeneous security APIs.
What you'll do
- Define end-to-end technical vision from initial design through deployment and deprecation
- Write production code in modern backend languages and review peer pull requests
- Mentor engineers and establish high standards for design and operational discipline
- Translate ambiguous product goals into concrete technical roadmaps and MVPs
- Design durable execution systems for long-running, resumable agent workflows
- Architect multi-tenant isolation and secure authorization layers for agent actions
- Build observability tools to make autonomous agent behavior explainable and auditable
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Seven or more years of professional software engineering experience
- Proficiency in modern languages such as Python, Go, Scala, C++, or TypeScript
- Deep experience building and operating agentic or LLM-backed systems in production
- Expert-level SQL skills and experience with distributed system patterns
- Background in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP with container technologies
- Track record of shipping production services including on-call ownership
Nice to have
- Experience with durable execution engines like Temporal or custom checkpointing
- Background in building multi-tenant platforms with hard isolation requirements
- Familiarity with security control planes such as EDR, firewalls, or SIEM APIs
- Experience integrating diverse third-party APIs behind normalized abstractions
- Knowledge of relational and graph databases including PostgreSQL and Neo4j
