As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will drive the technical direction and evolution of user-facing experiences across Vetcove’s procurement marketplace and practice management systems. You will define best practices, optimize performance, and collaborate with product and design teams to deliver scalable solutions for veterinary professionals and pet parents.
What you'll do
- Lead architecture and delivery of large-scale web and mobile frontend applications
- Define and enforce best practices for performance, accessibility, and maintainability
- Develop shared component libraries and design systems to boost team velocity
- Partner with product, design, and backend teams to deliver cohesive features
- Mentor junior engineers and influence technical strategy across product areas
- Debug and resolve complex frontend and cross-stack issues
What you'll need
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a frontend focus
- Bachelor’s degree required, CS or technical degree preferred
- Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React
- Experience architecting and scaling complex frontend systems
- Strong understanding of state management and performance optimization
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor other engineers
- Experience building Claude/Cursor skills to streamline FE practices
Nice to have
- Familiarity with mobile development using React Native
- Solid understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs
