You will define the vision and execution roadmap for Juniper Square’s systems estate, evolving it into a cohesive platform that enables rapid software delivery. This hands-on leadership position involves designing fault-tolerant distributed systems, modernizing cloud foundations, and supporting enterprise-scale growth for large institutional clients.
What you'll do
- Define end-to-end systems architecture strategy across services and infrastructure
- Design scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems and event-driven architectures
- Build a paved-road developer platform with self-service infrastructure capabilities
- Architect systems to handle data volumes for $100B+ AUM managers
- Write production-quality code and prototype critical platform components
- Lead incident response maturity and drive reliability engineering practices
- Mentor senior engineers and partner with product teams on technical strategy
What you'll need
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 15+ years experience in distributed systems, platform engineering, or infrastructure
- Proven track record architecting large-scale, high-availability multi-tenant systems
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, and service mesh
- Advanced proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or similar languages
- Expertise in infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Pulumi
- Experience designing event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar
- Deep understanding of observability practices and SRE principles
Nice to have
- Experience taking a SaaS platform upmarket to serve large enterprise customers
- Background in private markets, fund accounting, or fintech systems
- Experience building infrastructure for AI/LLM workloads and agent runtimes
- Experience scaling relational databases like PostgreSQL under high concurrency
- Background in high-growth SaaS or regulated, data-sensitive environments
