Join BJAK as an Applied AI Engineer to develop AI-native systems for their leading insurance and neobank platform in Southeast Asia. You will build agents and automations that solve real customer and operational problems, moving beyond research to ship production-ready tools.
The team works globally with a focus on making financial services more accessible. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify high-impact opportunities and deploy reliable AI solutions quickly.
What you'll do
- Build AI agents, workflows, and tools to solve customer and operations problems
- Apply LLMs, retrieval, and guardrails to practical financial workflows
- Create AI-assisted experiences for onboarding, support, KYC, and CRM
- Collaborate with product teams to identify and build high-value features
- Design systems considering accuracy, latency, cost, and security constraints
- Convert manual processes into scalable, reliable AI-enabled systems
What you'll need
- Hands-on engineering ability with strong coding skills
- Experience building AI agents, LLM apps, RAG systems, or copilots
- Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar stacks
- Ability to ship working systems and improve reliability over time
- Strong judgment on what processes should be automated
- Fluent English communication skills for global collaboration
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, banking, or support automation
- Background in risk, KYC, fraud detection, or CRM systems
- Knowledge of operations automation in financial services
