Join BJAK as an Applied AI Engineer to develop AI-native systems for their leading insurance and neobanking platform in Southeast Asia. You will build agents and workflows that automate real customer and operational tasks, moving beyond research to ship reliable production systems.
The team values builders who can apply LLMs and automation to solve concrete problems in onboarding, support, and risk review. You will work with product and engineering teams to identify high-impact opportunities and deliver scalable solutions quickly.
What you'll do
- Build AI agents, tools, and automations to solve customer and operations problems
- Apply LLMs, retrieval, and guardrails to practical financial workflows
- Create AI-assisted experiences for onboarding, support, KYC, and CRM
- Collaborate with product teams to identify and build high-value features
- Design systems considering accuracy, latency, cost, and security constraints
- Convert manual processes into reliable, scalable AI-enabled systems
What you'll need
- Hands-on engineering ability with a focus on building, not just strategy
- Experience with AI agents, LLM apps, RAG systems, or automation workflows
- Strong coding skills in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar stacks
- Judgement on what processes should be automated versus kept manual
- Ability to ship working systems and improve reliability over time
- Strong English communication skills for global team collaboration
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, banking, or support automation
- Background in risk, KYC, fraud detection, or CRM operations
