Join BJAK as an Applied AI Engineer to develop AI-driven solutions for their leading insurance and neobank platform in Southeast Asia. You will build agents and tools that automate real customer and operational tasks, moving beyond research to deliver production-ready systems.
The team values builders who can ship reliable software quickly. You will collaborate with product and engineering groups to identify high-impact opportunities and implement them using modern AI techniques while maintaining strict standards for accuracy and security.
What you'll do
- Develop AI agents and workflows to solve customer and operational challenges
- Implement LLMs, retrieval systems, and tool calling for financial tasks
- Create AI-assisted features for onboarding, support, KYC, and CRM
- Collaborate with product teams to prioritize and ship valuable features
- Design systems considering latency, cost, security, and compliance
- Convert manual processes into scalable, reliable AI-enabled systems
What you'll need
- Proven engineering skills with a focus on building production systems
- Experience with AI agents, LLM apps, RAG, or automation workflows
- Strong coding proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript
- Ability to judge which processes should be automated
- Track record of shipping working systems and improving reliability
- Fluent English communication skills for global team collaboration
Nice to have
- Background in fintech, banking, or insurance sectors
- Experience with support automation, risk, or fraud detection
- Knowledge of KYC processes or CRM operations
- History of scaling serious products or platforms
