Join the engineering team at Wayflyer, a fintech company providing fast capital to small businesses. You will design and maintain the backend systems that enable rapid business assessment and funding deployment.
The position requires building reliable, high-performance services that scale globally. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver features for customer-facing applications and internal tools.
What you'll do
- Design scalable backend services for core financial products
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs for web and internal apps
- Implement robust data models and database schemas
- Write clean code with comprehensive unit and integration tests
- Optimize application performance and ensure high availability
- Participate in code reviews and technical documentation
- Monitor production systems for reliability and security
What you'll need
- 5+ years of professional backend development with Python
- Strong proficiency in Django or similar API frameworks
- Experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of API design and microservices architecture
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Solid understanding of Git version control
- Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent practical experience
- Understanding of security best practices and data protection
Nice to have
- Experience in financial services or fintech
- Background in business-to-business organizations
- Proficiency with FastAPI or Flask
- Experience with pytest or unittest frameworks
