Join Makai Labs to automate real-world company operations by building AI agents. After initial training, you will embed in client engagements to discover inefficient workflows, prototype solutions, and drive adoption. This position offers a pathway into AI engineering, product management, or implementation leadership.
What you'll do
- Interview client subject matter experts to understand current workflows
- Map existing systems and read documentation to identify automation opportunities
- Propose automation strategies and write specifications with client teams
- Build prototypes on Makai's platform with support from engineering staff
- Manage rollout of successful prototypes and measure productivity ROI
- Determine which projects are not viable to optimize resource allocation
What you'll need
- Senior student, recent graduate, or early-career professional
- Demonstrated ownership in academic, professional, or extracurricular projects
- Experience leading teams, clubs, events, or high-pressure initiatives
- Ability to turn ambiguous tasks into usable tools or processes
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, SQL, or similar data languages
- Familiarity with APIs, workflow automation, or backend scripting
- Knowledge of LLMs, prompt design, retrieval, or AI evaluation
- Skills in data analysis, spreadsheets, dashboards, or process mining
- Experience with product specs, user stories, QA testing, or agile delivery
