Join Clipbook as one of the first engineers, shaping the technical direction of an AI-driven platform for communications teams. You will architect core backend systems and design data pipelines that process massive multi-modal datasets including text, audio, and video.
The team values pragmatic decision-making and rapid iteration. You will work closely with users to deliver reliable solutions while establishing engineering culture and standards from the ground up.
What you'll do
- Architect and build core backend systems using Python and Node.js
- Design scalable data pipelines for ingesting and normalizing multi-modal data
- Integrate LLMs and ML models into production workflows via RAG and embeddings
- Develop performant APIs and internal services ensuring reliability and security
- Collaborate directly with customers to iterate on product features
- Shape engineering culture, code quality standards, and system design principles
What you'll need
- 2–10+ years of experience building and scaling production backend systems
- Strong fundamentals in services, data models, and distributed systems
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to make reasonable technical decisions with incomplete information
- Proven track record of taking ownership and shipping features quickly
- Desire to grow into a leadership role as the company scales
Nice to have
- Experience with computer vision or multimodal models for audio and video
- Knowledge of semantic search, vector databases, or meaning-aware retrieval
- Background in LLM fine-tuning, RLHF, or evaluation pipelines
- Experience with web scraping and API integrations at scale
- Previous startup founder or early-stage employee experience
