You will own applied AI solutions that power patient-provider matching, clinical workflows, and engagement. The work involves developing advanced recommendation engines, applying NLP and generative AI, and setting technical standards for AI safety in a high-stakes environment.
This hands-on position requires designing product-facing AI architectures and core ML infrastructure. You will fine-tune models, unblock complex engineering problems, and guide the broader AI ecosystem to improve patient outcomes responsibly.
What you'll do
- Drive search ranking, relevance, and patient-provider matching strategies
- Develop and fine-tune models including LTR, embeddings, and LLMs
- Design product-facing AI architectures and core ML infrastructure
- Set technical standards for AI safety and clinical constraint handling
- Act as a technical multiplier for engineers across product surfaces
- Define technical strategy for the AI/ML infrastructure ecosystem
What you'll need
- 10+ years software engineering with 7+ in distributed systems
- 5+ years building and deploying production-grade ML applications
- 5+ years optimizing search, ranking, or recommendation engines at scale
- Strong Python skills plus TypeScript, Java, or Go experience
- 2+ years building AI products using foundation models and RAG patterns
- Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and vector databases like Pinecone
- 3+ years in MLOps, data pipelines, and rigorous evaluation systems
Nice to have
- Experience with HIPAA/GDPR compliant AI solutions
- Familiarity with human-in-the-loop and clinical decision support
- Background in evaluating human alignment and model interpretability
- Contributions to open-source AI frameworks or healthcare research
- Experience leading or mentoring AI/ML engineering teams
