You will join Tempo as a Senior AI/ML Engineer, focusing on the intersection of large language models, real-time signal processing, and enterprise decision-making. This position requires shipping production-grade AI features rather than conducting isolated research.
Working alongside domain engineers, you will establish patterns for prompt design, agent architecture, and model evaluation. The goal is to create reliable AI systems that help organizations manage time, resources, and planning more effectively.
What you'll do
- Build statistical and ML-based detectors for portfolio signals like velocity changes and capacity saturation.
- Develop an LLM-powered correlation engine that provides actionable insights with root causes and confidence scores.
- Design a translation layer converting natural language planning rules into parameters for Monte Carlo scheduling.
- Create evaluation pipelines including regression suites and A/B testing to ensure AI output reliability.
- Define MCP tool specifications for domain capabilities within a hub-and-spoke architecture.
- Collaborate with external AI partners to absorb their work and establish internal engineering patterns.
What you'll need
- 5+ years in software engineering with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML in production systems.
- Proven track record of shipping LLM-powered features used by real customers, not just prototypes.
- Hands-on experience orchestrating agents using frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or AutoGen.
- Strong fundamentals in prompt engineering, RAG architectures, function calling, and context management.
- Experience with event-driven or streaming data systems such as CDC events and real-time pipelines.
- Ability to write production-quality code with tests, participating in code reviews and CI/CD processes.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in Kotlin or TypeScript alongside Python for cross-platform development.
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or GCP Vertex AI platforms.
- Background in anomaly detection, time-series analysis, or statistical signal processing.
- Knowledge of Monte Carlo simulation, optimization algorithms, or scheduling systems.
- Experience in enterprise SaaS environments involving multi-tenancy and compliance.
