Join Vanta as a Senior Applied AI Engineer to drive the technical strategy for AI offerings. You will collaborate with product, design, and security teams to implement and scale AI experiences that help customers manage risk and compliance.
The position focuses on integrating large language models with existing systems, establishing guardrails, and mentoring team members. You will work cross-functionally to deliver customer value through smarter, faster AI-powered outcomes.
What you'll do
- Design and implement AI-powered features integrated with existing products
- Integrate LLMs to accelerate product adoption and customer value
- Instrument evaluations, guardrails, and monitoring for AI systems
- Review customer usage data to continually improve quality
- Collaborate with AI Platform engineers on foundational tooling
- Mentor engineers and champion technical and product instincts
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs balancing business and user needs
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of industry software engineering experience
- Experience shipping LLM-backed products using prompting or RAG
- Familiarity with agent frameworks and AI system improvement
- Background in designing and scaling full-stack applications
- Knowledge of TypeScript, React, and Node.js or willingness to learn
- Experience creating eval sets and driving quality improvements
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and collaborate with product teams
- Experience in rapidly scaling startups or large companies
