Join Vanta as a Senior Applied AI Engineer to drive the technical strategy for AI offerings. You will work with product engineers, ML experts, and designers to implement and scale AI experiences that help customers manage compliance and risk.
The team focuses on integrating large language models with existing systems, ensuring quality through evaluations and guardrails, and delivering smarter outcomes for users.
What you'll do
- Design and implement AI-powered features integrated with Vanta products
- Integrate LLMs to accelerate product adoption and customer value
- Instrument evaluations, guardrails, and monitoring for AI quality
- Collaborate with AI Platform engineers on foundational tooling
- Mentor engineers and champion high-ownership engineering culture
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs balancing business and user needs
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of industry software engineering experience
- Experience shipping LLM-backed products using prompting or RAG
- Full-stack development skills including backend APIs and frontend
- Familiarity with TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- Experience creating eval sets and improving AI system quality
- Background in mentoring engineers and collaborating with product teams
- Experience in rapidly scaling startups or large companies
