Join the Platform team at Bubble to build the infrastructure supporting millions of users creating software without code. You will work on scalable distributed systems, ensuring high availability and performance for a next-generation cloud environment.
This role involves designing core backbone services, improving data tier scalability, and implementing observability standards. You will collaborate with a small, elite team to solve complex engineering challenges similar to those faced by major cloud providers.
What you'll do
- Implement infrastructure capable of scaling to support infinite app complexity
- Improve performance and reliability across all backend services and data tiers
- Design observability systems and define SLOs for core platform components
- Build and iterate on workflow engines and high-volume data ingest services
- Develop next-generation cloud infrastructure to enhance availability and scalability
- Participate in triage and on-call processes to diagnose and resolve production issues
What you'll need
- 5+ years of software development experience at a senior level
- Proficiency in building scalable distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with Node.js, Rust, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and Terraform
- Strong problem-solving skills for high-traffic application support
- Excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration
- Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotations
Nice to have
- AWS cloud experience
- Experience with CDK or ECS
- Familiarity with Redis
