Join the Product Expansion team at Alternative Payments to build robust infrastructure for accounts payable and AI-powered analytics. You will architect core backend services and event-driven data pipelines that process critical financial transactions for service-based businesses.
This position requires close collaboration with Product and Operations teams to deliver high-quality features rapidly. You will help shape a platform that reduces complexity for clients while ensuring system reliability and performance.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain core backend services for data processing and business logic
- Design idempotent, queue-based workflows using event buses like Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Write clean, maintainable code in Go and SQL following clear coding standards
- Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure system quality
- Instrument metrics such as throughput and latency to monitor system health
- Collaborate with Product and Operations teams to deliver features quickly
What you'll need
- 4–7 years of professional software development experience with senior responsibilities
- Strong proficiency in Go or a comparable backend language
- Solid experience with SQL and PostgreSQL or equivalent databases
- Experience working on payment platforms or with financial transactions
- Comfortable working with event buses and message queues
- Solid discipline in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Familiarity with Git workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines
Nice to have
- Experience with data lakes or analytics engineering tools like ClickHouse or dbt
- Prior work on analytics products or financial data reconciliation
- Frontend experience with TypeScript
- Hands-on experience integrating with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Netsuite APIs
- Understanding of accounting principles such as double-entry bookkeeping
- Experience with observability tooling like Prometheus and Grafana
- Basic exposure to compliance and security concepts like encryption

- Total compensation range of $90,000 - $105,000 plus equity
