You will drive the design of Linear's mobile applications, adapting desktop features for handheld devices and refining user flows. Working in small, autonomous teams, you will pair directly with mobile engineers to prototype, build, and ship features without traditional hand-offs.
This position requires a designer who values software craftsmanship and can engage in technical discussions. You will contribute to the design system, mentor peers through critique, and help shape the product from concept to deployment.
What you'll do
- Own the end-to-end experience for iOS and Android apps
- Adapt desktop features for mobile contexts effectively
- Pair with engineers to execute projects without hand-offs
- Refine key screens, flows, and minor quality issues
- Create high-fidelity mockups and functional prototypes
- Provide collaborative critique to guide fellow designers
- Maintain and improve lightweight design system components
- Participate in hiring to elevate the design team
What you'll need
- At least 5 years of software design experience
- Strong emphasis on mobile-specific design work
- Ability to prototype using code or tools like Figma
- Comfortable asking questions and advocating for ideas
- Humble approach to feedback and iterative improvement
- Skill in distilling complex problems into clear solutions
- Effective written and verbal communication for async work
