As a Solutions Architect at Mapbox, you will act as a trusted technical advisor for global OEMs and startups. You will partner with sales teams to understand customer needs, design scalable architectures using Mapbox SDKs and APIs, and deliver prototypes that drive business outcomes. This role bridges technical depth with commercial strategy to create immersive navigation and mobility experiences.
What you'll do
- Partner with sales to position technical value and shape opportunities
- Lead technical discovery to define customer goals and success criteria
- Design and present scalable architectures using Mapbox platform services
- Respond to RFI/RFQ requests with clear documentation and proposals
- Provide technical guidance via workshops, demos, and proofs of concept
- Advocate for customer needs to influence product and engineering direction
- Stay current on mapping, mobility, and AI technologies
What you'll need
- Fluent in Korean and English (written and verbal)
- Reside in Japan or South Korea
- 5+ years in solutions architecture or customer-facing engineering
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field
- Knowledge of web and mobile technologies like JavaScript, Android, iOS
- Experience integrating back-end APIs with front-end SDKs
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for meetings and events
Nice to have
- Experience with GIS, location intelligence, or geospatial data
- Experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with AI technologies
- Understanding of Automotive industry ecosystems and ADAS
- Experience collaborating with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers
